This class is a continuation of “Getting to Your Sewing Machine: Part 1”. In this class we will use the sewing machine as well as the sewing tools discussed in Part 1. Furthermore this class is an entry into simple clothing design. Students will design and draft an apron pattern. In Part 2B the pattern will be sewn.

This class is designed specifically for home school and off track students. Each week we meet for two hours. Using engineering principles, students will learn to design, draft, and sew simple patterns. Sewing machines and tools are provided. Parents will need to purchase fabric. Module One:

Topics include threading machine, needle and thread choice, machine tension, different sewing stitches, recommended sewing tools and how they are used . Students will receive a workbook and sample fabric swatches.
